MediaWiki Website Transfer
Do you need your MediaWiki website transferred from one web hosting provider to another, or need to move to more powerful account at your current web hosting provider? We can do that for you, while ensuring that the transfer is taken care of quickly, professionally, and seamlessly.
To transfer the website, we will first copy the website's files, database, and any SSL certificates to the new web host. We then update any configuration files with the new information for the new web host. Next, we test the website to ensure that is functioning properly, as the new web hosting setup may operate differently from the old one. If any modifications are required so that the website continues to function properly, we will make those. Finally, we update the domain name's DNS record to point to the website on the new web host. It can take up to 2 days, though usually it happens in an hour, for the DNS record to fully propagate. During this period, the website may be accessed at either the old web host or new web host.
In most cases, we can perform the transfer the same day you contact us.
