Website malware scanning services claim they can protect your website from malware, but the truth is that they are not even designed to try to protect your website from malware. What these services do is to scan pages on your website for malware, so at best these services would be able to detect malware on the website after your website has already been infected. That is obviously too late to protect the website from being infected. If these services actually cared about protecting websites they would be telling you that if you take some basic security precautions you can actually protect your website from almost all possible malware infections. Of course, if your website is never infected you don't have a need to scan for malware that won't be on your website in the first place and therefore you wouldn't need their service. If you don't take these basic security precautions hackers can do more than just infect your website with malware, including gathering your customer's personal information (in some case that could be credit card information), which is something that a malware scanner would never detect.

Please don't use one of these services as they don't provide actual protection and it provides them with additional funds that they can use to continue providing false protection to unsuspecting users.
